

Janet E. Justice, 70 of Gadsden, AL passed away January 8, 2017 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Born July 28, 1946 in Ontario, Canada. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur P. Millard. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Justice, who served and retired from the U.S. Navy. Janet was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and friend. Janet’s love of people was one of her defining characteristics as she was always there to help others. Janet made friends wherever she went.
Janet enjoyed being a member of James Memorial Baptist Church where she worked in the library. She was interested in traveling, cooking, and crafts. Janet was always crocheting baby blankets for family and friends. She was past Matron of Queen City Chapter #135 Order of Eastern Star. She served as treasurer and participated in community service.
In her younger years she participated in local ice skating competitions in Canada and was a loyal member of the Girl Scouts and believed strongly in that organization.
Janet is remembered by her love of life and her favorite saying “The best things in life are not things.” Janet is survived by her sister Susan and brother-in-law Alan Huneycutt of Cornelius, NC and many relations and friends.
A memorial service will be held at James Memorial Baptist Church Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
