Judy Thompson Pitts

A visitation for Judy Thompson Pitts will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. officiated by Chaplain Bob Hundley. Special music by Cyle and Rachel Rice.

Judy was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. She served Etowah County as Revenue Commissioner from 1991 until 2009. She was a past member of the Lions Club and past President of the AATA (Alabama Association of Tax Administrators).

Preceding her in death was her husband, Keith Pitts; parents, Robert and Elizabeth Thompson; brother, Larry Thompson; sister, Joanie Lee Thompson and special grandmother, Nellie W. Pepper.

Left to cherish her memory is her children, Teresa Beth Countryman and Traci Ann (Jason) Rice; loving granddaughters, Ashley Leigh Ann (Dale) Dunnihoo and Briar Rose (Joe) Countryman; grandchildren, Caleb Lee, Joseph Keith and Marley Kate Rhoades; special sister-in-law, Elaine Thompson and special niece, Joana Celine Thompson; brother, Jim (Mary Jo) Thompson and niece, Joana Thompson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Revenue Commission Staff while Judy was serving, Jason Rice, Dale Dunnihoo, Caleb and Joey Rhoades, Ronnie Reed, Carson McCreless and Bobby Junkins.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local animal shelter in honor of Judy’s cat, “Voodoo” Countryman.
