Larry Jack "Graceful" Davidson

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at CrossPoint Community Church for Larry Jack Davidson, 70, of Gadsden. Dr. Chuck Conley and Mike Davis will officiate with special music by Tim Lett. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Our beloved husband, father and Paw Paw went home to be with his Savior on January 31, 2014.

Larry “Graceful” was a 1962 graduate of Emma Sansom and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Minyard Davidson. They were blessed with 5 children: Djuana (James) Warren, Greg (Paula) Davidson, Amanda (Jackie) Justus, Loey (Matthew) Mills and Lee Davidson.

He was the proud Paw Paw of 19 grandchildren: KC (Frank) Ing, Marly Warren; Noah Davidson; Jackson, Emma Grace and John Davidson Justus; Alex, Canaan, Micah, Jonah, Georgia and Ashton Mills; Katie Rary; Caden, Claire and Chloe Davidson; Jacob and Luke Dowdy. Special grandchildren, Lanee’ Long, Minsoo Kim and Johnny Manning. One great-grandchild, Isaac Ing.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Elena Holland; and daughter-in-law, Kari Davidson.

Larry worked in the grocery business for over 40 years. He served as President of Alabama City Lions Club. He was a member and Deacon of CrossPoint Community Church where his passion was missions, having gone to Mexico and Ukraine. He was a prayer warrior for many people. He was active in Kairos prison ministry and the Walk to Emmaus. His passion for basketball and sports was shared with his children and grandchildren. Paw Paw loved his Savior, his family and his friends.

Larry was blessed to be taken care of by Southern Care Hospice, Leslie Moore and Jess Allsup.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coosa Christian School Athletic Club.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
