Linda Sue Works

Linda was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She had worked at Waffle House for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her mother Barbara Akridge; grandparents Hattie Mae Pharr, and Walter and Ann Akridge; sister Sandra Slaton Barlow; and the father of her children Jerry Works.

Linda is survived by her children Kimberly Faith "Kim" Works and Jerry Michael "J.J." Works; grandchildren Dalton Dakota and Adrianna Alexis "Lulu" Williams and Makayla Brooke and Jerry Michael "Lil' Man" Works, Jr.; chosen son Michael Hill; Sisters Brenda Schmale and Rhonda Acarakan; and God children Jennifer Deweese and Jason Schmale; aunt June Bearden ; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and special friends.

She bravely battled the ugly "C" word until her battle ended and she went home on the morning of Tuesday, December 21, 2021. She left this world while surrounded by her beloved children and at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Circle of Life Church in Hokes Bluff, with Bro. Bubba Leatherwood officiating. Collier Butler Funeral Home was in charge of the cremation.

Please do not send flowers, per Linda's request. Her wishes were for donations in her honor to be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
