Martha Lou Maltbie

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Martha Lou Smith Maltbie, 61, who passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Rev. Kenneth Boles will officiate. Burial will be at Cherokee Memory Gardens Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Maltbie was a member of Moshat Baptist Church in Centre. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed playing with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Lee Smith and Ruby Hampton.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Maltbie; son, John Maltbie; granddaughters: Ryleigh Maltbie, and Sadie Maltbie; brothers: Gains Smith, of Sand Rock, and Winston (Carolyn) Smith, of Centre; Carol (Phil) Rigmey; special friends, Sarah and Amanda Bennington; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Brett Matthews, Harrison Gray, Ernest Fletcher, K.D. Frost, Steve Smith, Harold Brown, and Carl Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Gadsden Fire Department, Rural Metro, and Anniston EMS.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will accept friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
