
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Nell Martin, 70, Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Tony McGowan will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Martin worked at Westclox doing production work. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. She was a fan of Alabama football and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was famous for making her homemade banana puddings.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Martin; parents, James Boozer Sr. and Ruby Lucille Boozer; brother, Bobby Ray Boozer; and sister, Carolyn B. Hightower.
She is survived by her brother, James (Glenda) Boozer Jr.; sister, Kathy Brothers; nieces, Mary Autrey (Charles Easterly) and Paula (James) Gregory; nephews, John Autrey and James (Andrea) Boozer; great-nieces, Hunter, Lia, and Presley Autrey; great-nephews, Matthew (Megan) Gregory, Nick Gregory, and Harrison Boozer; and brother-in-law, Billy Hightower.
Pallbearers will be Charles Easterly, Nick Gregory, Matthew Gregory, James Boozer, Harrison Boozer, and James Gregory.
