Mildred Hill Smith, age 91, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021. The family will receive friends at Collier Butler Funeral Home from 12 until 1:30pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021. A Graveside service will follow at 2pm at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Southside. Rev. Gene Burgess will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She had been a member of South Gadsden Baptist and later joined Mount Gillead Baptist Church in Jacksonville. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Euell J. Smith, Jr.; son Steve Allen Smith; daughter Sherry Smith Davis; son in law Melvin Davis; parents Ira and Mary Hill; siblings Wilbourn Hill, Jessie Lee Hill, Hazel Turner, Ruby Gay and Tressie Morgan; special niece Trena Wilkes.
She is survived by her son Larry Wayne Smith; Grandson Bryan Ellis; special Niece Lawanda Kelly; and several other nieces and nephews.
Her family will serve as pallbearers.
