
Nancy Jackson Ryan, 93, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012. She was born in Marshall County, reared in Blount County and lived the majority of her life in Etowah County. Visitation will be at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 on Thursday, August 9, 2012 with graveside services to follow at Forrest Cemetery. Rev. Robby Edwards will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will be directing.
Our mother was a strong, courageous person with great fortitude. She was a sweet, gentle and kind person who loved her family greatly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Having many illnesses in her life she relied upon her strong faith in God for courage and strength.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack (A.E.) Ryan, infant daughter, Nancy Irene Ryan, parents James Addison Jackson and Mattie Jackson and brother Garth Jackson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Norma Jean (Farrell) Stephens, Carolyn Jane (Ray) Pankey, grandchildren, Pamela (Joey) Watson Kristi (Patrick) Wise, great grandchildren, Stephen Wise, Ryan Watson, Alyssa Wise, brother, Garnett (Marlene)Jackson, sister-in-law, Janell Jackson, niece Jerri Lynn (John) Jenkins, nephews, Douglas Jackson, Perry (Terri) Jackson, great nieces, Jennifer Jenkins, Riley Jackson, great nephews, Jess Jenkins, Chapman, Addison and Grant Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Jackson, Perry Jackson, Joey Watson, Patrick Wise, Ryan Watson, Stephen Wise and Troy Lee Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be Durwood Nichols, Niles Nichols, John Ellis Nichols and John Jenkins.
