Pat accepted Christ at an early age and attended West End Baptist Church where she became the assistant pianist. There she also taught Vacation Bible School, and GA’s Sunday School Class for young children. Later, she moved to the Moody’s Chapel Community and sang in the choir at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.
Pat graduated from Altoona High School in 1957 and attended Gadsden Business College before transferring to Alverson Draughon Business College in Birmingham.
Pat retired from Regions Bank as Assistant VP with 30 years of service, and after retirement she worked for 5 years at the Gadsden Treatment Center. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club, worked with the Chamber of Commerce, and was a Red Cross Volunteer. She was a member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church and was in the Bill Whitwer Sunday School Class, Rodeo Girls and Prime Timers.
Above all else, Pat was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother known to all of us as Nana. She was ready to fetch, tote, deliver, run interference, or whatever else might be needed to help out with the kids. All of the neighborhood children knew her as Nana too! More than anything, she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their friends, too. She was a wonderful mother-in-law, too. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
