Patsy Jean Walker Lang

Her smile was infectious, her zest for life was indomitable! She handed out joy and happiness like it was candy in her pocket. For those of us she called her own, there is a void, a void we will fill with the memories of her love and laughter, to honor her sojourn here, that touched us all! Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage!

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Winningham officiating. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lang was a 1958 graduate of Etowah High School. She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. After her family, bowling was her passion. She was league coordinator for the Etowah Bowling Association and was inducted into the Etowah County Bowlers Hall of Fame. Mrs. Lang worked at Sears and Roebuck and was a retired Mary Kay Representative. She was an avid reader and enjoyed ceramics, sewing and crafting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Grace Walker; aunt and uncle, Ralph and Mable Walker and double first cousins, Pat Farrow and Glenn Walker.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Paul David Lang; children, Jeffrey (Kalyn) Lang; April (Ken) Peschell; Gregory (Charlotte) Lang and Wendy (Steve) Striplin; grandsons, Dylan, Justin, Chance, Joshua, Connor, Logan, Kameron, Grayson, Ian, Asher, Derek and Tyler; granddaughter, Heather; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Linda (Gene) Hammond; 1 niece; 1 nephew and a host of cousins.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Layla Wren; Staff with Kindred Hospice; Neurology Department at UAB and Dr. James Markert.
