Funeral services for Mrs. Robbie Grissett Spears, 98, of Gadsden, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Bob Thornton will officiate with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing. Mrs. Spears passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014. She was previously a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham and a current member of Glencoe First Baptist Church. Mrs. Spears was a beloved mother , grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her great love for her Lord and her family. Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clarence Spears; and her son, Rev. Kenneth C. Spears. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara T. Spears; grandchildren, Carol Spears, Janet S. Reed (Barclay), and Ken Spears, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Justin Reed, Brandon Reed, Jason Reed, Joshua Spears, and Emma Katherine Spears. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Paden Ridge Assisted Living. Visitation for friends will be held from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
