

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Robert L. “Bobby” Lowe, 63, Southside, who passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing. Mr. Lowe was a 1966 graduate of Gadsden High School and a veteran of the U S Air Force, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and a member of the Local Union 12. He enjoyed assisting customers in obtaining their homes while employed at Preferred Mortgage, the Coosa River, Boat and Car Racing and his great love was any outdoor sports with his boys. Those preceding him in death are his parents, J.W. and Flossie Lowe, chosen father, Dwight Owens, niece, Kim Vice and chosen sister, Patsy Owens. He was a wonderful, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lynne Lowe, sons, Justin Lowe and Jonathan Lowe, chosen daughter, Emily Clifton, chosen mother, Ruby Owens, sisters, Anita (Ed) Mobley and Carolyn (Jim) Garbe
chosen brothers, Chris Owens, Jack Rutledge, Johnny Reed and C.L. Colvin, brother-in-law, Barnard (Linda) Spakes
aunts, Josephine Payne, Frances Johnson Powell and Jeanette Winters, Nieces, Michelle Garbe and Pam (Gary) Hutchinson
two great nieces and two great nephews, chosen mentor, Jim Garbe and Numerous cousins, and special friends.
Pallbearers will be, Jack Rutledge, Johnny Reed, Barnard Spakes, Terry Brown, K. P. “Tater” Sims, Jeff Johnson, Chris Owens and Michael DeLeon. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Blake Erwin, Tyler Erwin, Anna Hutchinson, Victoria Erwin, Ed Mobley, Gary Hutchinson and the staff and employees of Goodyear. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Etowah County Humane Society at www.humanesocietyetowahcounty.org/donate. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the MICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Goodyear co-workers (where he was a mentor to many young men). To our friends who have sacrificed their time to be with us during this past week, your kindness will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
