Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Newton County Memorial Gardens, Newton, MS for Mr. Rodney Lankford Cochran, age 66, of Rainbow City, who passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.
Mr. Cochran was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Newton County High School and Mississippi State University. He then established a career in retail and wholesale for the past 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James Cochran and Mamie Lankford Cochran; and brother, Ray Cochran.
He is survived by his wife, Gayla Cochran; daughter, Tiffany Cochran, Huntsville, AL; sons, Rodney L. Cochran, Jr., Tampa, FL and Lee Walden, Birmingham, AL; as well as special pets, Ellie, Daisy and Bama.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Etowah County Rescue Squad.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
