Graveside services will be Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 2 P.M., at Forrest Cemetery, for Mrs. Ruby Naomi Haynes Hammett, 90, of Gadsden who passed away Thursday, February 12th, 2015. The Rev. Frank Samuels will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Hammett is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Hammett; daughter, Ernestine Hammett; sisters, Vera Chitwood, Lera Ingram; and brothers, Lee Haynes, and Dewy Haynes.
She is survived by her daughter, Evia Jean (Jim) Pate; granddaughter, Janetta Lynn (Bart) Gunter; great grandchildren, Lyndsie Gunter, Bethanie Gunter, Stephen Gunter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Sandra Carpenter and staff and Lisa Lasseter.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 P.M. Saturday, prior to the service.
