Jackie was born on July 19, 1930, in Altoona, Alabama to Dawson Alexander and Mae Stanfield. She had six siblings. After graduating from high school she attended nursing school until she married her husband Hoyt Lumpkin at age 21. She enjoyed volunteering for different charities, organizations, and her church. She was a busy homemaker and devoted mother to her three children.
Jackie embodied the best qualities of unconditional love, strength of spirit and unending generosity that is exemplified by her hosting her extended family every summer at the Lumpkin family farm and lake on Lookout Mountain. There were activities and adventures for all to enjoy. She also organized who would host the family gatherings at every holiday. She was the loving force that kept the family close.
After raising her children, Jackie worked in the medical field as well as in child care. Jackie enjoyed cooking, canning and antiquing. She was an avid reader. When she was younger, she enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing. She loved the beach and the lake. What she loved the most was being Mimi to her 3 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. She will always be remembered for her great love and care for her family.
