

Stanley Earl Stroup, age 66, of Southside, AL, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Rainbow Church of Christ. Blake Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Williams Southside Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Stanley was a graduate of Southside High School class of 1976. He worked in law enforcement for over 15 years. He was Assistant Chief at Southside before joining Hokes Bluff Police Department. He later started his own construction company and became a licensed contractor. The past several years, Stanley was general manager at High Voltage Electrical. Stanley was a kind man and would give anyone in need a helping hand. He was respected by his friends and fellow employees and considered them family. He never complained while battling his cancer, and he faced it head on. He said whatever the outcome, he would be ok. He is at peace now. He is healed and with his Lord and savior… and has been reunited with Will, the apple of his eye. Stanley was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alice Stroup; and son, Will Stroup.
He is survived by close friend and mother to Will, Susan Lasseter; brothers, Jerry and Michael Stroup; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be close friends.
Flowers will be accepted of donations may be made to your favorite charity in Stanley’s honor.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Southside Police and Fire Department, Gadsden Regional ICU nurses and doctors, and close friends (Larry Naler, Joe Morgan, and others).
The family will accept friends from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the church on Friday.
