
Sue McGraw Rudd, Gadsden, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 88 years of age. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 13, at Collier Butler Funeral Home with funeral service conducted by Rev. Randy Gunter at 2 p.m.
Sue was a graduate of Gadsden High School, Jacksonville State University, and Auburn University. A professional educator, she began her teaching career at Gadsden High School and continued as a teacher and administrator at Gadsden State Junior College. The consummate teacher, after retiring from GSCC she continued to work on the adjunct staff as an on-line teacher.
A loving mother, sister, and friend, Sue learned to love the Lord as she grew up and served in East Gadsden Baptist Church. After moving away from the community she continued to worship and serve the Lord through MeadowBrook Baptist Church.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Rudd, the love of her life, and parents John H. and Mary Lois McGraw. She is survived by two sons, Ed Rudd and James Rudd, two granddaughters, Hannah Rudd Dempsey of Ayer, Massachusetts, and Rachel Rudd, one sister Elaine McGraw Campbell, one niece Jayne Campbell Clark, two nephews Mike Campbell and Jon Campbell and her loving cat Flo.
