Tommy Baine Gibson

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Tommy Baine Gibson, 68, of Glencoe, who passed away July 5, 2016. Rev. Vince Whittington and Rev. Anthony Gomez will officiate. Burial will be at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Gibson was graduate of Albertville High School and served in the National Guard. He worked as an application engineer for 25 years at Gulf State Steel and almost 20 years at M & H Valve in Anniston. He loved his work and work family. Mr. Gibson loved woodworking, fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general. He also loved his church family and served as a Deacon and on multiple committees at First Baptist Church Glencoe for many years. Mr. Gibson was a devoted caregiver to his wife of 48 years. He adored and loved his family and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Talmadge Gibson.

Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Gloria Joyce (Jolley) Gibson; daughter, Misty (Randy) Bush; grandchildren, Prescott and Lexy; mother, Marjorie Gibson Nunally; sister, Debbie (Terry) Cannady; nephew, Brandon (Brandi) Cannady; brother-in-law’s, Ernest (Peggy) Jolley, B.C. (Linda) Pearce, Ralph (Kim) Jolley; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Donny Collins, Ricky Collins, Jeff Collins, Phillips Arnold, Greg Garrett, and Brian Dunn.

Honorary pallbearers are First Baptist Church Glencoe Joe Childs Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Glencoe Building Fund.

Special thanks to David and Faye Hindsman with countless hours of love and support; Alacare Hospice staff, especially Suzanne, Jennifer, Kim, Karen, and others; special thanks to many family and friends and multiple church members; and to the precious sitters, Myra, Sybil, Norma, Jean, and Sherry.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
