Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Virginia J. McDonald, 80, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Rev. John Dickinson will officiate. Burial will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. McDonald was born and raised on Sand Mountain. She worked a number of years for the Credit Bureau and for Martins Clothing Store for over 20 years. She was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Hattie Lester; sister, Helen Kemp; and brother, Glendell Lester.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Elbert McDonald; and son, Gregory McDonald.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
