

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Wanda Alford Ray, 69, Altoona, who went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 17, 2014. Rev. Steve Dempsey will officiate with burial at Young’s Chapel Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services Directing.
Mrs. Ray grew up in Hokes Bluff, was a longtime resident of Altoona and a five year resident of Heflin. She last attended Pine Grove Baptist Church, Heflin, AL. Mrs. Ray was a 1962 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School, an avid reader, talented seamstress and a wonderful cook. In previous years she worked as a bookkeeper.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jesse Van Ray, father, Loyd Junior Alford, grandparents, Luther and Leola Sewell, Scott and Zinnie Alford.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her daughter, Dana Ray

Sister, Angela Alford Herman
Brothers, Haskell Alford and wife Betty and Sharrell Alford and wife Deborah
A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be; Haskell Alford, Sharrell Alford, Nicholas Weir, Noah Davenport, Zachary Herman and Jerry Alford.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
