

William Hoyt Hill, age 79, of Rainbow City, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Epps will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will accept friends from 12:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Hoyt was the owner of Hill’s Logging for 39 years. He was a man of faith and attended Riddles Bend Baptist Church. Hoyt loved gardening, spending time with his family, being outdoors, working in his shop, and joking with family and his many friends. He loved homemade Ice cream and riding around in his golf cart. Hoyt will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded death by his mother, Evie Hill; father, Fred Hill; sisters, Elizabeth Carter and Minnie Bellew; brothers, Vester Hill, Melvin Hill, Leon Hill, Junior Hill, Elbert Hill, Ellis Hill, Eddie Hill, Barney McCartney, Thomas McCartney, and Jimmy McCartney.
Hoyt is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Hill; son, Gary (Jackie) Hill; grandchildren, Jennifer (Craig) Naylor and Ashley (Kyle) Green; great grandchildren, Hunter, Paige, and Rylee Wadley. Austin, Allie, Kylee, and Cash Green, Colton and Kamran Naylor; brother, Cleo Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terry Bellew, Ricky Hill, Matthew McCartney, Shane McCartney, Tim Carter, and Glenn Carter.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Bobby and Linda Fugatt, Riverview Regional staff, and the CPCC unit at UAB hospital.
