Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. William R. “Billy” Griffin, age 79, Rainbow City who passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014. Rev. Van Lockridge and Rev. Josh Sullins will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation services will direct.
Billy was a graduate of Gadsden High School and Jacksonville State University. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. Billy was an avid runner, swimmer, biker and loved to work outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Griffin and mother, Virginia Reeves Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Griffin, son, Kevin Griffin, Brother, Warren Griffin, Jr. and sister, Mary Virginia Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church Mission Fund.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the 7th floor nurses at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until the hour of service.
