Amy Kathleen Rennerfeldt Rapp entered into the loving arms of her Savior on Friday, the 26th of December 2025 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness. The family wishes to extend gratitude to her care teams at the Zangmeister Cancer Center, Ohio State University Medical Center, and Mount Carmel Medical Intensive Care Unit for the support she received throughout this and her many other health struggles.
She was born in Fremont, Nebraska on the 16th of October 1970 to Dale and Vicki (Hall) Rennerfeldt. After living in many neighborhoods in Omaha, she graduated from Millard North High School in 1989. She attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton University in pursuit of an education credential, but opted to leave prior to graduation after her first marriage to Rik Walgrave of Omaha. She was a longtime employee of Ford Credit in Omaha and Cass Information Systems of Columbus.
After she and Rik parted amicably, she met George Rapp and moved with him to Central Ohio. They were married on the 16th of December 2001 at Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna, Ohio. They settled in Pataskala and welcomed three children: Kathleen (Katie), Linus, and Ian. In addition to her employment, Amy was a dedicated mother to her children and a supportive wife to George, always ensuring that they knew they were loved and cared for. Her greatest aspiration was to become a mother to nurture and guide the next generation.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Dallas and Hilma Hall of Craig, Nebraska and Margaret and Jerry Rennerfeldt of Oakland, Nebraska; mother Vicki (Hall) Eads of Omaha, Nebraska; and children Rebecca, Hayden, and Holly Walgrave of Omaha, Nebraska. She is survived by her father and stepmother Dale and Marjory (Margie) Rennerfeldt of Omaha; aunt and uncle Judith (Hall) and Ed Olsen of Blair, Nebraska; siblings Russ (Jamie) Brenaman of New Mexico, Kerry (Jon) Tuttle of Oregon, Torey (June) Eads of Omaha, and Gary (Beth) Brenaman of Winterset, Iowa; stepfather Larry Eads of Omaha; husband George, and children Katie, Linus, and Ian, all of whom will miss her sense of humor, her spirit, and her courage in the face of difficult health issues.
Amy's memorial service will be held at 11:00am Eastern on Friday, 9 January 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church (455 Clark State Road, Gahanna, OH 43230). All are welcome. The service will be livestreamed on Peace's Facebook and YouTube channels; information is available at https://www.peacegahanna.org
The family will receive visitors and friends from 6-7pm EST on Thursday, 8 January at the church.
Per her wishes, Amy chose cremation, and her ashes will be committed to the Peace Memorial Garden columbarium at some date in the future. She is under the care of Schoedinger Funeral Home in Gahanna.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the Peace Lutheran Memorial General Fund in honor of Amy, at the addresses listed above.
