Beeman Eugene Burgoon

Beeman Eugene Burgoon was born on November 27, 1940 to Homer and Florence (Lama) Burgoon in Rockbridge, OH. He passed away at home surrounded by family in Columbus, OH on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the age of 83.

Beeman was active in many aspects of life. He loved to golf, hunt, and fish, but especially loved and valued time spent with his many friends and family members. He was an avid fan of bluegrass and country music. Beeman was part of the 1959 graduating class of Groveport Madison High School before going on to retire from Lucent Technologies after 42 years. He was a longtime member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pickerington, OH as well as of the Freemasonic Grand Lodge of Ohio Groveport-Lockbourne Lodge #801, 32° Scottish Rite, and the Aladdin Shrine. In addition to being a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Beeman was also a dedicated fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.

Beeman is predeceased by his aforementioned parents. Left to cherish his memory and big smile are his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Jean (Lowther) Burgoon; his brother, Ronald Burgoon; his children, Peggy Burgoon, Julie Burgoon, Beeman “Sonny” (Lori) Burgoon, Christina (Thomas) Heath, and Daniel (Lori) Compton; his grandchildren, Krista (Brutus) Cooper, Ryan (Melissa) Lego, Austin (Makenzie) Crist, Donovan Heath, and Christian Heath; great grandchildren, Braelynn and Gia; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable contributions be made in Beeman’s name to Mount Carmel Hospice.

A visitation for Beeman will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230 immediately followed by a Memorial Service for Beeman.
