Betty Joan Whitacre

Betty Whitacre (Lintner), 93, passed away peacefully on March 23rd at Otterbein-Gahanna Senior Life with her loving daughter Lori by her side. She was born September 18, 1930, in Columbus, Oh to Earl and Marie Lintner.

Betty loved to watch The Ohio State Buckeye football and basketball teams and rarely missed a game. She was also an avid reader and liked to take long walks outside, especially at Gahanna Creekside. But her passion was ballroom dancing with her long-time partner Dick McCabe.

She is survived by her daughters Lynn (Todd) Persinger, Gayle (Bryan) Kerner, Lori Whitacre (Jeff Varner) and her son Benton Tedlie. She is also survived by brothers Larry (Helen) Lintner, Beck (Barb) Lintner and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and one nephew.

Preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marie, and her brother Don Lintner and his wife Teresa.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 4, 2024 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH. Visitation will take place at the funeral home the hour before.
