Caleb "Cal" Delaney

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Caleb “Cal” Delaney , 23, of New Albany, Ohio on June 2nd, 2025. Cal is survived by his loving parents, Bryan and Carrie Delaney, his paternal grandparents, Gene and Brenda Delaney, his maternal grandmother, Sandy Hoffman, aunt Jenny Delaney, aunt Laurie Keating (Chris Keating ), uncle Rick Hoffman (Heather Hoffman) and his 4 cousins, Nicholas Keating, Madelyn Jacobs (Tim Jacobs), Rachael Lee (Brad Lee), and Rick Hoffman as well as many dear friends with whom he shared countless memories. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Richard Hoffman.

Cal’s signature smile, cowboy hat and witty sense of humor lit up every room. He was a devoted son, loyal friend and true “momma’s boy” in the most endearing way. Family, friends and golf were the core triads in Cal’s life. Cal discovered his shared love of golf with his father at a young age, and this sport became a lifelong passion. As a standout athlete and natural leader, Cal served as the New Albany High School golf team captain in his senior year where he inspired teammates with his skill, uplifting attitude and humility. His talent on the course earned him a golf scholarship to Tiffin University.

When Cal wasn’t on the course or teaching others the sport, you could find him working out, spending time with family and friends, enjoying a Jack and coke.

Cal’s family and friends describe him as loyal, fiercely loving and a bit ornery, in the best way possible. He lit up every room he entered and never met a stranger. He always showed unconditional acceptance of others. The absence of Cal has left emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit remains through the many stories and photos friends and family continue to share.

A celebration of Cal’s life will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home at 1051 E. Johnstown Road in Gahanna Ohio on Saturday, June 7th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cal’s memory may be made to First Tee- Central Ohio, a local organization impacting the next generation through the game of golf in his honor.
