Carol Ann (Walsh) Raderstorf passed peacefully on November 4, 2024, lovingly surrounded in her final week by many family members. She lived an incredibly full life of 96 years. Carol was born August 16,1928 to William and Carol (Martens) Walsh in Blue Island, Illinois to an Irish Catholic family. Together they raised a busy family of seven children living in the tri-state area of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. A devout mother, Carol always put her family first, making each birthday and holiday a day to remember. She loved her Irish heritage and made every St. Patrick’s Day special. Later in life, Carol and Jerry moved to Hilton Head Island and together they spent their retirement years riding bikes on the beach, enjoying the beauty of the island, and living the “good life.”
Carol recently lost her husband of 72 years, Jerry, in December of 2023. She is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Rex & Sherri (Brun) Raderstorf of Dayton, OH, Mark Raderstorf and Linda Armstrong of Minneapolis, MN, Dirk & Anne (Brennan) Raderstorf of Columbus, OH, Ross Raderstorf & Carla McPherson of Tucson, AZ, Dawn & Tom O’Brien of Omaha, NE, Kim Raderstorf & Suzanne Condray of Columbus, OH, and Scott & Joellen (Shafer) Raderstorf of Boulder, CO. Carol was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren during her later years whom she dearly loved as they brought her great joy. She is also survived by 2 special sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, November 23 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 386 Buttles Ave, Columbus, Ohio. An Inurnment Ceremony for both Jerry and Carol’s ashes will occur at 11:30 am immediately following the mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High St., Lewis Center, Ohio.
