Clara Loraine Hoya McConnell

Our beloved Clara Loraine Hoya McConnell passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2022, two days before her nineteenth birthday. Clara was born May 1, 2003 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to parents John McConnell and Melissa Martel-McConnell. She grew up in Gahanna and graduated from Lincoln High School in 2021. Clara participated in both Marching Band and Choir.

We will forever remember Clara as a talented singer/songwriter and self-taught guitarist. Her family and friends deeply miss her unique sense of humor and the laughter that always followed. Clara’s warmth and compassion touched many lives during her short time here. She was our shining star.

Clara is survived by her parents, stepmother (Andrea McConnell), stepfather (Johnny Richardson), brothers (Quincy and Finnegan), and sisters (Cooper and Caroline). Clara is also survived by her paternal grandparents (Terry and Jacqueline Westfere).
