Dan began his working life delivering newspapers and working in a local drug store. He served honorably in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany and had the opportunity to travel and explore several surrounding countries.
Dan had a great life, and coaching his children's sports teams, officiating sports, and being a sports assigner for youth sports was a significant and cherished part of it. He officiated softball/baseball, basketball, and football. He was also a member of many sports officials' organizations. One of his proudest moments was being inducted into the Officials Hall of Fame in appreciation of his outstanding service to High School sports. He considered his friends from this community as family. Dan enjoyed his gatherings with fellow sports officials in addition to his weekly luncheons at York Steak House with fellow sports officials as well as his luncheons with his bowling friends.
Dan loved his family deeply and was present at his children's milestones. He especially adored his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them participate in their sports and other activities, as well as their graduations. Dan is survived by his two loving children, Shelly (Troy) Kenily and Michael Falkson; grandchildren, Peyton and Collin Kenily; sister, Jeannine Lemasters; many nieces and nephews; and several close friends.
