

Edie, affectionately known as Oma, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 98. Born in Berlin, Germany on January 25, 1927, Edie lived a life full of grace, generosity, and joy. Since 1970, she made her home in Gahanna, Ohio, where she became a cherished part of the community.
A devoted housewife and proud mother of three, Edie was much more than her title. She was a woman of many talents and passions—teaching cooking and craft classes, authoring two cookbooks, designing clothing and interiors, dancing with joy, and hosting unforgettable gatherings filled with warmth and laughter.
Edie devoted over 30 years of volunteer service to the Red Cross and served as President of the Military Wives’ Club, always leading by example with kindness, elegance, and resilience.
Edie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roland, her daughter Rosemary, her parents Meta and Erich, and her brother Gunther. She is survived by her loving children Ingrid and Chris; grandchildren Shannon, Chris (Kerry), Ashley, Lauren (Jennifer), and Lindsay; great-grandchildren Christopher (Sarah), Madison, Sophie, Taylor, Avery, and Parker; and great-great-grandchildren Catherine, Melody, and Kingston. She also leaves behind her siblings Ingrid, Werner, and Helmut.
Known for her impeccable style and her generous heart, Edie was the embodiment of strength, elegance, and love. Her family and all who knew her will carry her legacy in their hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Rd Gahanna, Ohio 43230 on May 23rd from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
