

Elizabeth Anne Ray died unexpectedly on March 26, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio. Elizabeth was born on October 22, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the daughter of Dr. Richard S. Ray and Diane Foster Ray. Elizabeth was artistic, and she loved to work with people. In high school, Elizabeth danced in drill team, and served as Queen in Jobs Daughters. In college, Elizabeth studied modern dance performance, choreography, and costume design. She received a Bachelors and a Master of Artis in Modern Dance from the Ohio State University. Elizabeth went on to receive a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1990.
Elizabeth’s career was as an occupational therapist, and she worked at several organizations, including the Ohio Bureau of Workman’s Compensation for 10 years. Elizabeth most recently worked at the Columbus Public School System as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2008. She loved working with children of many ages.
Elizabeth always wanted to help people. She volunteered her services at the Free Medical Clinic. She volunteered at her church. She went on many missionary trips. She built homes in Mexico and Jamaica, provided wheelchairs in El Salvador and Afghanistan, taught sanitation in Cambodia, provided medical services in Russia and Kenya, and delivered educational materials in South Africa. She also visited Israel and the Holy Lands. Her fun trips were to Scotland for the Dance Festival, France, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Kathleen Ballman, her brother, David Ray and his wife, Sharrie, niece and nephews, Christopher, Nicholas, and Brandilynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Alan Ballman.
Her funeral will be April 1, 2024 at Heritage Christian Church, 7413 Maxtown Road, Westerville, Ohio. Visitation will be at the church at 11 a.m., and the funeral at 12 noon. Burial will follow later at Forest Home Cemetery in Hicksville, Ohio.
