

Ellen Sue (Hennessey) Stacklin passed peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Gahanna, Ohio. She graduated from Watterson High School in 1984 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Mount Carmel School of Nursing in 1989 and Bachelors of Nursing from Capital School of Nursing in 1993. Choosing the path of nursing, because of her deep love of caring for others, she dedicated 36 years to her profession. She was a Certified Oncology Nurse at the Zangmeister Cancer Center and Mount Carmel.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, J. Edward and Marjorie Sue (Sheeran) Hennessey; her father-in-law, August John Stacklin; her brother, Patrick S. Hennessey and her beloved Schnoodle.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband Robert Stacklin, who she married on July 9, 2005; children Paul and Leah Stacklin; sisters; Susan (Douglas) Lammers, Kathleen (Robert) McFadden, Erin Hennessey and Molly Hennessey; mother-in-law Carol Stacklin, sister-in laws Sarah Hennessey, Marianne (John) McCloskey, Susan (Michael) Krebs and Laura (Joseph) Ringer, brothers-in-law; Christoher (Karen) Stacklin, Mark Stacklin, August II (Shelly) Stacklin, Thomas (Fernanda) Stacklin, Patrick (Stacey) Stacklin, Michael (Holly) Stacklin, Daniel (Crista) Stacklin, David (Stephanie) Stacklin, Steven (Megs) Stacklin and Matthew Stacklin and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ellen was a loving and devoted wife and mother who poured her heart into her family. Her famous cut-out cookies were a cherished favorite, bringing joy to those she loved. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church and gave generously of her time through community service, embodying kindness and compassion in all she did.
Her radiant smile was truly infectious, brightening the lives of everyone around her. Ellen faced her recent challenges with unwavering strength, dignity, and grace. Through it all, she never lost her faith or fighting spirit, remaining an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, Ohio. Rosary will be at 12:40 PM. Nightingale Tribute will be at 4:30 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 17, 2025, beginning at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd, Columbus, OH 43230.
