Hal Keith Smith

After his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy, where he would serve three years before his honorable discharge in 1954. Upon returning from his service, he earned a degree in accounting and worked for State Auto Mutual Insurance Company until he retired in the late 1990's. While raising his three children, he became very good at every kind of household repair and many home improvements. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Barbara, for 64 years.

In addition to his parents, Hal was preceded in death by his siblings, Blythe (Smith Valentino) Herron, Daniel Smith, and Paul David Smith.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara Lee (Huey) Smith, three children, Saundra Deann (Steve) Bender, Hal Geoff (Laura) Smith, and Helen Kathleen (Paul) Koors; three grandchildren, Joseph Alan (Jennifer) Koors, Robert Michael (Erika) Koors, and Emma Nichole (Anthony) Baietto; two great-grandchildren, Rebekah Marie Koors and Caleb Michael Koors; and his sister, Marcia (Smith) Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 5 to 6pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, 43230. A funeral service will follow at 6pm, Clay Brown to officiate.
