Janet Roberts

Janet Lilly Roberts, 83, of Gahanna, OH, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2021. Janet was born to Jack Hollandsworth and Mary Anne (Meador) on 15 December 1937 in Beckley, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her college sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Homer Richard Roberts.

Janet earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Bethany College and a Master of Arts in Education from University of Pittsburgh. She was a beloved third grade teacher in the Bethel Park School District for 27 years before retiring. Janet was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church also in Bethel Park, PA.

Janet will be remembered as a woman who deeply loved her husband and her family, who lived her Christian faith, and championed the less fortunate. A dear friend to many, her absence will be keenly felt by all those her life touched.

Janet is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children: Jeffrey Roberts (Susan) of Bel Aire, MD, Karen Zelina (Tom) of Gahanna, and Lianne Tedesco (V.J.) of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren; sister Annabel Hobbs (Bryan) of Pembroke Pines, FL; and Larry the Cat and Lizzie the Dog. At the time of her death, Janet was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild expected this Spring.

A celebration of her life will take place at 2PM on 22 January 2022 at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park.
