

Genevieve divorced while Kathie was very young. Eventually marrying Bill Dietrich, and having two more daughters Margaret and Deborah. Kathie grew up on the east of the city with her sisters. Kathie went to Gahanna Lincoln high school and graduated in (1960)🎓 It was at Gahanna Lincoln that Kathie met her high school sweetheart, Joseph G. Reight (Born in July 1943). The two married in Feb. 1963. Joe worked at his own family business, J & F Machine's. He was a talented musician, as a guitarist, playing in his band "The Nutron's". And there would be Kathie in the audience looking radiant, dresses in the best! Playing & dancing many nights away in established night clubs. Sadly, three children, A daughter, Brenda Kay, and two son's, Micheal & David would never live beyond the womb. Four years of marriage later, they finally brought home a bouncing baby boy, Joseph G. Reight, the second, in Sept. 1967. Their pride and joy.
Together they enjoyed a good time in family life. The band often practiced in the family home. Vacationing in Gatlinburg and making memories flying planes, playing music and living life loving each other.
Sadly in Jan. 1974 Joseph G. Reight would go in for an open heart surgery and never wake up. Kathie carried on her life with her “Little Joey”,with great help & love from her inlaws Susan Klien & Lenia Hammond. Her sister Debbie, and niece Selene moved in and together they had their bunch of a family.
In the summer of ‘77 a game of cards would change their lives forever. Jerry Wayne Mora gladly passed Kathie a beer and never left. They spent the entire night playing cards and talking. And for 5 years Jerry asked Kathie to marry him. Finally in Feb. Of “82 they got married and had their honeymoon in his home state of Louisiana just in time for Mardi Gras. The party never stopped with Kathie & Jerry. And now Joe's band practiced upstairs.
In Oct. Of “92 Kathie received a gift, her own namesake, a granddaughter named Katharin Lee (Kaylee). Jerry and Kathie gained custody of Kaylee in “95 as their son went to college. Throughout their lives they raised Kaylee as their own daughter. Joe was always there to help. Again, together they enjoyed a good time in family life. Vacationing in Gatlinburg, Disneyworld and making memories shopping flea markets, playing music and living life loving each other.
Kathie suffered from two brain tumors in “02 & “04. She survived brain surgery. Which would leave her permanently disabled for the rest of her life.
Everyone moved back together in 2020. Kaylee having great Grandchildren Aryah & Damien now.
Kathie enjoyed watching TV & coloring with her great grandchildren Joe & Kaylee took care of Kathie & Jerry til their ends. Together for 47 years,She lived & died at the family home for 54 years.
Kathie was everyone's grandma. Kathie was grand to all who knew her.
