Kathy’s lifelong passion for animals was evident to anyone who knew her. In childhood, she nurtured a variety of pets and wildlife, such as ducks, gerbils, mice, rats, anoles, praying mantises and other insects, and a vole named Ebenezer. As an adult, Kathy dedicated much of her time to volunteering and fostering with Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue and Franklin County Dog Shelter.
Gifted with a green thumb, Kathy’s home was always filled with vibrant orchids and thriving houseplants. In her retirement, she pursued her interest of growing vegetables by creating an indoor hydroponic garden. She was an avid cook and baker and preparing food for others was one of the ways that Kathy showed her love. The delicious desserts she made for family gatherings will be sorely missed.
