

Lita May Vance of Reynoldsburg, OH passed away on April 1, 2025, at Wesley Ridge Senior living center. She was born August 15, 1927, in Zanesville, OH and was the daughter of John E. Derry and Luna M. (Allison) Derry.
Lita was a 1945 graduate of New Concord High School. She was employed at the Zanesville Credit Union and later at the Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. On January 17, 1947, she married William A. Vance and were happily married for 61 years.
Lita was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star, Sonora United Methodist Church, and, after moving to Reynoldsburg in 1976, Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed being with family. Lita found the Lord in 1971 and spent the remainder of her life as a mighty prayer warrior, praying daily for many friends and family members. She loved Jesus and is now basking in His glory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings: Wendell Derry, Dwight Derry, Geneva Jennings, Ruth Lenhart, Pauline Kirk, Ernestine Bogle, Ellis Derry, Denzil Derry, Isabel Ross and Rita Blancett.
Lita is survived by her three children, Robert W. Vance (Esther), Gary C. Vance (Donna), Sharon K. McConnel (Thomas); seven grandchildren, Allison Hammond (Scott), Melissa Wallace (Mark), Derek Vance (Cady), Marcus Vance (Nicole), Travis Vance, Dustin Vance (Courtney), Eric Hughes (Amanda); three Step-grandchildren, Thomas McConnell Jr. (Lesley), Chris McConnell, Ryan McConnell (Alyssa); fifteen great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and one step great, great grandson.
A Viewing at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 887 Rosehill Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude at Saint Paul Cemetery near Zanesville, OH.
