

Marjorie "Margie" Ann Miller, passed away peacefully at her home (Gahanna) on January 5, 2025 to a courageous battle of Alzheimer's disease and at her side caregiver best friend partner Lisa Shaver. She was born in Amanda, Ohio on January 16, 1950 to Dorothy Florence and Joseph William Miller. She is preceded in death by her parents. She graduated from Amanda Clearcreek H.S. in 1968 then continued her education by graduating from Otterbein College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1972 and later earned a Master's Degree from Ashland College. The fall of 1972, Margie began and finished her impactful 30-year career as a Gahanna Lincoln H.S. Health and Physical Education teacher. During her tenure, she coached varsity girls' volleyball and softball teams for over 20 years. She led volleyball teams to Regional, District and OCC Championships while leading the softball teams to a multitude of State, Regional, District titles and OCC Championships. She was inducted into the Gahanna Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011. Margie was an extraordinary softball player for the McGlaughlin Oil women's team to later be recognized of her accomplishments inducted into the Columbus Softball Hall of Fame in 2002 and All Legends team 2009. Margie was an avid golfer who regularly played in scramble outings with many great friends and not mention even hit a hole-in-one. She enjoyed reading the local newspaper especially sports and crossword sections as well as reading murder mystery books. Every other month, Margie enjoyed getting together with retired teachers to catch up and play poker. She loved attending The Ohio State University sporting events especially football and basketball games as a 25-year season ticket holder. Margie has two caring sibling brothers Joseph Howard (Dana) Miller and Donald (Sara) Miller. She has nieces and nephews whom she was very proud of Cindy (Scott) Noble; Debbie (Todd) Hamilton; Brad Miller and Tug Miller as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was grateful and truly appreciated the love and support from extended family Carol Shaver (preceded in death Richard Shaver), Teri (Bob) Ceckitti family, Sharon (Todd) Dietz-Linkhorn family and (preceded in death Jamie) Jason Mayberry family; many great friends such as Sue Swisher; Pastor Pete Elliott and Capital City Hospice. A visitation for Margie will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A funeral service will occur the following morning of Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast.
