Matt was a 1987 graduate of Carmen-Ainsworth High School in Flint, Michigan. After high school, he found his way to Virginia Beach, Virginia where he lived for almost 30 years before relocating to Blacklick, Ohio. He loved all things Star Wars and Superman, and was a die hard fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Red Wings, and Michigan Wolverines (much to the chagrin of his Buckeye wife).
He is survived by his wife Christina “Kris” (Dillon) Steele, daughter Sydney, son Weston, father in law William Dillon II, sisters Susan Piesik and Catherine Ijames, brothers Mark Steele and Brian Steele, brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Graham “Doc” and Barbara “Barb” Steele, and his mother in law Jean Dillon.
In accordance with Matt’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism or Blood Cancer United.
