Michael "Mike" L. Sayre

Mike was a dedicated father to Jasen (Melissa) Sayre, Paul (Koty) Sayre, Joey (Brianna) Sayre, and Megan (Collin) Koenig. He was also a proud grandfather to Cayden, Addison, Aiden, Collin, Raleigh, Mayson, Sutton, Sawyer, Kamden, Ellison, Karsyn, Grayson, Garrett, Fallon, and Lennon.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Tonya Sayre, and his grandson, Garrett Sayre.

Mike was known for his wide range of talents and interests. A true “jack of all trades,” he had a deep knowledge of many things—cars, guns, appliances, and motorcycles—and could often be found tinkering away in his garage, repairing, building, and fixing things. His passion for learning and problem-solving was rivaled by his creativity and skill in craftsmanship.

Mike’s quick wit and sense of humor were some of his most cherished qualities. He had an uncanny ability to crack a joke and bring laughter to those around him, often lightening the mood with a perfectly timed remark. His humor was as much a part of him as his vast knowledge, and it will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Music was another passion of Mike’s. He was incredibly musically inclined, enjoying singing karaoke and playing both guitar and harmonica. His love for music brought joy to many over the years.

Above all, Mike was a devoted family man. His love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. He also had a profound love for animals, and his dog, Harley, was not only his best friend but a constant companion who was with him until the end.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the legacy of love, music, and knowledge he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal shelter of choice in his memory.

A visitation for Mike will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, followed immediately by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
