

Dick was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Carolyn (Kuhlman) Welsh and father, Richard Welsh, a young son, Eric David Welsh, and granddaughter Louise Elizabeth Welsh. He is survived by his wife Pearl (Maleski) Welsh, and children, Rick Welsh (OH), Keith Welsh (CO), Melanie (Welsh) Kitchens (WA). He was known as ‘PopPop’ to his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Dick was born in Arnold, PA and later graduated from The University of Pittsburgh where he participated in the Glee Club. Dick was recognized for his work as Vice President of CIT Group before heading west to Wyoming to become President of the consulting firm, Great Plains Resources. He ended his career at D2D Warehouse in Marysville, OH.
Dick was known for his large personality and love of the outdoors which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the Delaware Range and Field Association and the Buckeye Triumph Club. He was an avid hunter, fly fisherman, British car enthusiast and gunsmith. He knew every actor in every John Wayne movie. A true lover of animals, he was joyfully welcomed into heaven by the beloved bird dogs and lap cats that filled his life with companionship.
