Robert Eugene Downes passed away on October 19, 2024 at the age of 81 in Reynoldsburg, OH. Born December 25, 1942, Robert, known as Bob, enjoyed travelling the world during his four years of service to the United States Air Force. He then embarked on a distinguished career at Motorists Mutual Insurance Company, later known as Encova. He retired as the vice-president of the tax division after over four decades of exemplary service.
Bob was a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University, which laid the foundation for his professional achievements. After retiring, he worked on restoring his cherished 1940 Plymouth. His days were well-spent napping with his cats, feeding the birds, and enjoying the company of ducks, herons, and other wildlife by his pond.
He leaves behind his wife, Carol Downes; his daughter, Carmen Downes and her husband Matt; his son, Robert Alan Downes; grandchildren, Ian, Elias, and Connor, Courtney, Nikki; and his sister, Pat Bell.
The family will be honoring Bob's life privately.
