Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and family organizer, Sarah Mae King, passed on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after fighting the good fight against cancer. Sarah, who was born in Columbus on February 20, 1980, resided in Westerville, OH. While her family knew she was beginning to lose her battle, her passing came far too soon.
Sarah will be remembered for being her whole-heartedly sassy self. Although much too short in both stature and duration, she lived her full life unfiltered and out loud. Sarah loved camping with her friends; drinking wine, exploring, and celebrating life with her sisters; spending time with her parents; and attending as many concerts, sporting events, and festivals as she could possibly fit into a day. If there was fun to be had, she’d be there and it would be impeccably planned. She was an avid reader and owned more editions of The Wizard of Oz than anyone knew existed. She also fully enjoyed being the “favorite aunt” for her nephews and niece. Of all the activities she enjoyed, perhaps her favorite was spoiling them whenever she could and attending as many youth sports games and dance recitals as possible. Sarah also spent many years working at Nationwide Insurance, a job that she loved.
Sarah is survived by her mother and father, Linda Cline and Larry King; her sister, Katie (Brandon) Bradley, and their two children, Connor and Dean; her sister, Jennifer (Danny) Williams, and their daughter Lydia; and by her cherished dog, Daisy Mae; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother and grandfather (Virginia and Rodney King), her maternal grandfather (George Cline), and her beloved dog, Peanut.
Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the National Cervical Cancer Coalition. This nonprofit organization raises awareness for cervical cancer research and prevention. She’d also want to say to every woman “Fight like a woman for your rights and get your dang paps. Oh, and another thing, screw the patriarchy!”
