Thomas “Tom” William Ebel, 84, of Gahanna Ohio passed away the evening of March 14th, 2023, at his home. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Nancy; his daughter, Leanne Renee, and granddaughters, Tessa & Sierra Smerk; brother Robert Ebel; sister-in-law, Robin (Bob) McCartney, and their children Ross (Amanda) McCartney & Kevin (Sara) McCartney; and his little Pom-Chi Molly. He is proceeded in death by his beloved parents and two siblings.
Tom graduated from Aliquippa High School and spent his early years working at the Jones and Laughlin Steel Mill in Aliquippa, PA. He spent the latter half of his career as a shuttle technician for NASA at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for 20 years. Following retirement, Tom and Nancy spent their time at their summer home in Slippery Rock, PA and at home in Gahanna, OH.
Tom appreciated life’s simple pleasures; he enjoyed spending time at the beach and playing cards with his wife and polo club friends. To honor Tom’s memory, please consider a donation to Columbus Humane or the charity of your choice. A memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
