Barbara Ellis Lyon

Barbara Louise Ellis Lyon, age 86, of Warrior, AL, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. She was born to Robert and Nell (White) Ellis on September 12, 1935. She attended Warrior High School, where she was a graduate of the Class of 1952 after she was doubled promoted and allowed to finish a year early. Barbara met and married her husband, the love of her life, Joe. They worked and became business owners when they started their own landscaping business. The Whole Blooming Yard. She loved to do yard work herself. You would find her outside cutting grass until she became unable just the past year. She also had a passion for baking and loved to share sweet treats with family and friends on holidays, special occasions, and sometimes just because.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nell Ellis and by her husband, Joe Lynn. She is survived by Denise (Larry) Anthony, who she considered to be her daughter and a host of family and friends who loved her and will miss her tremendously. Special thanks to Monarch Place, Encompass Hospice and all the individuals who helped care for in the last year.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in the Mausoleum Chapel, 2100 Moncrief Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cane Creek Baptist Church or Cane Creek Baptist Church Food Bank, P.O. Box 452, Warrior, AL 35180.
