Betty Thomas

Thomas, Betty Hill, age 87 passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was raised and lived most of her life in New Castle, AL and was a member of Gardendale’s Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ray Thomas; and a son, Billy Tyson Thomas. She is survived by her loving family, two sons, Donald Thomas (Pat) and David Thomas (Melinda); grandchildren, Rene Crocker (Jimmy), Joseph Thomas (Wendi), Kevin Thomas (Anita), Brent Thomas (Ashley), Michael Thomas (Moriah), Justin Thomas (Jennifer), Darin Thomas (Denise); great grandchildren, Alex Crocker, Blake Crocker, Logan Thomas, Troy Thomas, Olivia Thomas, Jake Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Brittany Ivey, Breanne Kearns; and three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ann Black of Las Vegas, NV; and sister-in-law Clara Hill. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association for Research.
