On the morning of March 14, 2024, Bobbie Rouse Burger passed away at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents H.B and Jewel Rouse, Sr.; her husband Robert “Bob” Burger; and her siblings: H.B Rouse Jr., John Rouse, Linda Hill, and Bill Rouse. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her 4 children: Sheila (Keith) Carroll, David (Juanita) Black, Sandra (Pat) Nooney, and Jeff Black; her 7 grandchildren: Brandon and Scott (Megan) Carroll, Bobbie Lea (Scott) Gilbert and David (Josalin) Black Jr, Cody Black; and Chase and Katie Henderson; her 6 great-grandchildren: Ava and Natalie Carroll, Hailey and Heather Gilbert, and Parker and Matthew Black.
Bobbie loved her family, she was a lifelong resident of Gardendale Alabama and a member of the Gardendale Baptist Church. She also loved to read, play computer games and watch Alabama football. Bobbie worked in retail and was instrumental in opening the K-Mart and Walmart locations in Gardendale as well as other locations for Walmart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Visitation from 1pm to 2 pm. Funeral at 2pm.
