

Carmon Redman (CD) of Warrior passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017, at the age of 95. He was a quiet country boy who grew up in Blount County. His parents were Emmett Redman and Lelar Murphree Redman. His siblings, Thelma Sloan Murphree, Herman Redman, Ercy Redman, Orville Redman, Emma Gene Bertrang and Weldon Redman predeceased him. He was married to Ostelle Creel Redman for 59 years until her death in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Redman; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Carmon served in the US Navy from 1942-1945 on the USS Ancon. He worked for Birmingham Transit Company as a bus driver for 36 years. In his early years, he played banjo in a local band in Blount County. He was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening, raising cows and working outside. He was generous and kind.
Carmon was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Special thanks to Fred Chappell who visited regularly and provided much support. His caregiver, Jackie Marshall, has become a part of our family. We also wish to thank the New Bethel Men's Sunday School class and the Ladies Prayer group for their prayers and support.
Services will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, July 15, 2017 with a visitation to begin at 10:00 am; funeral at 11 am followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
