

Carolyn retired from the Federal Reserve Bank after many years in banking where she served as a money sorter. She was a active member of Calvary Baptist church and was the church secretary for over 30 years and she was active at the Cane Creek Baptist Food Bank. Other than servicg the Lord, her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. she loved her family dearly and they all brought a smile to her face. She also loved to spend time at the lake where she had so many wondeful memories.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mildred Thornberry; her loving husband, Dewey B. Bishop; her son, Kenneth D. Bishop; her sister, Jane Dismukes; and a grandson, Jonathon Bishop and his wife, Bridgette Bishop.
Carolyn is survived by a grandson, Adam Bishop and his wife, Michelle Bishop; four great grandchildren, Skylar Bishop, Zane Bishop, Daniel Bishop, and Noah Bishop; daughter-in-law, Tammie Kerr; a nephew, Mike Dismukes; a niece, Renea Dismukes, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in her memory be made to the Cane Creek Food Bank at the Cane Creek Baptist Church, 963 Warrior Jasper Road, Warrior, AL 35180.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 800 Arkadelphia Road, Warrior, AL 35180. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
