Garrett, Charles A., age 100 of Warrior, AL passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 75 years, Mary E. Garrett; five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his two sons, Roy Garrett (Rita) and Charles A., Jr. ”Charlie” Garrett (Sherry); granddaughter, Christine Garrett and grandson, Charles A. Garrett III; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Garrett was a veteran of the US Army serving his country in the European Theater during WW II. He retired from Roy Bridges Volkswagon after thirty years of service. He started out in the service department and later worked his way up to General Manager before retirement. He served as past president of the Birmingham Civitan Club and was a member of the Gardendale Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
